From a young age, I was taught to consider the importance of restraint, sacrifice, and encouraged to find purification.
Yet, I resisted this concept for most of my life.
It always seemed a bit dramatic for me.
I had to find my own way.
In the tradition of yoga, prayer involves “practicing the presence.” This state of reverent meditation supplants the individual ego and fosters a “oneness” with the Divine pure-consciousness.
In stillness, we find this raw authenticity; cultivating a deeper level of self-representation or true humility as we recognize the power and vastness of Divine pure-consciousness.
We blame conditions, world events, toxins, rude people, and anything we can for us not having access to a peaceful life.
I invite you to consider this - that peace cannot be taken, destroyed, or threatened.
It was a couple of days, that suffering came ‘knocking on my door’. Doubt, worry, and envy all showed up at once! These pesty trappings of suffering can be sneaky. You see, I was tired from a long day of work, and hungry. Depleted. My gaurd was down. Ever have those moments? I just wanted to unwind and get to bed.

Parents and teachers are feeling a "weight" about the opening of schools. Business owners watch their bank accounts struggle. The list goes on . . .of things that are just making us feel off balance.

Read MoreI am activist. An advocate. For humankind. For loving kindness. For peace. For LOVE.
Not a conditional love, which can happen easily. Often without even realizing it, we define love based on something or someone meeting a certain criteria in order for us to have compassion, understanding, and love for them.
Read MoreI spent 14 years in the events industry, managing at times up to 100 events a year. During that time, I often reminded my team that success was in the details. We pushed through long hours, reviewing all the details to ensure best outcome. Exhausted, we produced over 1,000 events during my time! I was honored for being a great planner . . with ‘an eye for detail.’ But, it was at cost.
Now many years later, through a different lens, I explore the details. . . .

The birds sing, and the squirrels busy themselves with their morning routine; nature surrendered to the constant of change, evolution and cycle. We are not. We fight change like it is a big bad enemy. We kick and curse G_d for taking away our comforts, our routines and our materials items.

The constant threat of depression and despair is growing and very real for many. It can feel like riding a roller-coaster that doesn't stop!
